If you arrive by POV:

Take the Rosecrans Street exit from either Interstate 5 (I-5) South or Interstate 8 (I-8) West.  Follow Rosecrans for approximately 8 miles, until you arrive at the front gate to the base.

If you are traveling North on I-5 from downtown San Diego, take the Pacific Coast Highway exit.  Continue approximately 1.5 miles, and exit to the left onto Barnett Avenue.  Barnett Ave. becomes Lytton Street.  This will intersect with Rosecrans Street at a light;  make a LEFT turn onto Rosecrans and proceed approximately 5 miles to the front gate.

If you arrive by Air:

When you land at Lindberg International Airport, you can get directions from the Traveler's Aid Society Desk, whose staff provide assistance during normal working hours (Monday - Friday  8:00am - 5:00pm).  After 5:00pm the desk is manned by military personnel until the airport closes (approximately 11:00pm).

There is a USO Office at Terminal 2 which can provide you a cup of coffee and answer any questions you might have.  They can assist you with transportation issues as well as information on local hotels.  The USO is open 7 days a week from 11:00am to 11:00pm.

Taxi rates from the airport to the base vary between $8 and $13;   it is important to negotiate the rate for the total cost before you get into the taxi.

If you use the local bus service:

Bus routes, fares and schedule information may be obtained by calling (619) 233-3004.  ROUTE 29 serves the Point Loma area and SUBASE.
